These are the materials you'll need: cream or white cardstock, coordinating chalk inks, mod podge, foam brush, masking tape.
Take strips of tape and tear them lengthwise (for this card, I liked using long strips.) Depending on the look you want, you can also tear smaller pieces. Make sure the cardstock is covered completely with tape.
Dab or smear your chalk inks over the tape. The more ink you use, the more intense the finished product will be. Be sure you blend the colors carefully but try not to smear your chalks on top of each other too much or else it will look muddy.
Paint a layer of Mod Podge (matte) over the inked surface. Let it dry before going onto the next step. It takes about ten minutes to dry.
Stamp your image on the dry surface using solvent ink (StazOn). Ta-dah!

Thanks for sharing this technique. I love the card & your clear, easy to follow instructions. Definately something I'm going to try.
WOW!!!!! This is cool. I don't know that I would have the patients to cut/tear all that masking tape. Plus, I don't have chalk inks & I don't have solvent ink. Wait, I don't have mod-podge either. SHOPPING TRIP!!!! I have masking tape!!!
Wow, thanks for that Ethel :) I do have all of those ingredients - must play!
oooo! Thank you for the instructions, Ethel! I will have to keep this in mind and try it out for a future project.

Hi Ethel, came to your blog via Rein's blog, This is such a wonderful technique thankyou for sharing so clearly...
Hi Ethel! I'm in the middle of working on my Christmas cards and while what I'm doing will work well and I love for people that they are being hand delivered to, they're not so great for mailing. I want to keep using the stamp I'm using and was trying to think of something interesting and flat to do with it. Well, in the middle of the night, I remembered this technique on your blog! Perfect!! Thanks for the technique and the inspiration!
