Pictures of my new studio!

I'm almost there! The boxes have been unpacked. Most of the 'stuff' has been put away. The furniture is set up. I just have a few things to organize, but I'm almost ready to start creating, again!!!! Whew! It's been nearly two months since I've sewn or done 'anything' creative!! I'm just itching to start sewing again! So, here are the pictures. The first one is what it looks like as you come to my studio (which is the first room on the left when you reach the top of the stairs):

The next picture shows you this beautiful window and my closet. I really should make curtains for this window, but I hestitate since it may block out some very valuable natural light.

I bought this 'side table' from WalMart, today. This is where I'll place my June Taylor cutting / pressing mat. I read in a book that your 'utility' table should be at a 90-degree angle to your sewing table, if you are going to have one next to your table.

Girl's gotta have a TV!! LOL! I also have a radio in the room. I need some 'noise' when I create.

I can still do some cardmaking and scrapbooking, in here. This is my stash of cardstock, papers, tools, etc. The baskets hold some fabric.
The owners of the house placed these neat shelves just below the ceiling. She also used this as her sewing room, and this is where she placed her antique spools, nick-nacks, etc. I've started to place some of my Longaberger baskets up there, most of which I plan to eventually sell at a garage sale in October.
This is my 'design wall.' It is intentionally 'empty.' This is where I will place blocks as I complete them. I don't know how to create a design-board, just yet, but I'm doing research on it.
Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day!

Wow! nice studio girl! :) I feel the organization makes it very peaceful. Not like the hot mess I have going on in my scrap room right now!

Very nice, Ethel! Love the "Church" windows! I wish my studio was so nice and neat. Mine's a mess.

I can't believe you are selling your LB Baskets! Let me know before you do anything drastic...

Ethel, this looks like a fantastic room for you to create in! I love all that great light and it looks like there is enough room on either side of the window, if you did want some light curtains. That little table you just bought?? That is what I have been creating on for the last couple of months on and off when I want to play in the living room so that I can be with my family at the same time. :> I have a decent size desk/table built in in our bedroom, but on the weekends, that's just too far away from the action. Thanks for sharing your great space!! Oh yea.....I don't know what its called, but I have a good friend who is a quilter and she has some kind of fabric up on her wall where she places her blocks as she works on them. The 'fabric' is just tacked on in the corners, but she is going to build a frame out of molding to finish it off. I can ask her what its called, if you want. Enjoy your new creative home!! :>

Ethel it is beautiful! I love how spacious and how much light your have. Do NOT put up anything in that gorgeous window. In fact, take the curtain rod down! If privacy isn't a problem then let that beautiful window stand as a piece of 'hanging' artwork too.

Ummm...will you adopt me? I'll be your MUCH older sister.

How wonderful that you are set up and ready to start creating again Ethel. I am sure you are going to have a wonderful time working in that fantastic neat and tidy room. The window is fabulous and I would not want to put a curtain across it either.
I shall be looking forward ro seeing the first of your new Florida studio creations. Much love and big hugs Joan

Looks Great! It's amazing what a little organization can do for your creative juices. I think when I lose my mojo it's my inner side telling me that it's time to clean & organize again! I look forward to seeing your creative side soon.

Hi, Ethel! What a fabulous space. A whole room just for you! That would be such a blessing! Maybe try some see-through drape material? They would give the window a little "finishing" but still let in the light? Have fun in your new crafty/sewing room! :-)

Fabulous room Ethel, I know you'll spend many fun hours in there! FYI I carry your bag most places with me - it went to the quilt expo in Long Beach last weekend, and now it's here in Switzerland with me :) Thanks again!
