My vacation is drawing to a close
I thoroughly enjoyed my little break from work. I can't believe how quickly the days have flown by. As opposed to vacations of the past, we didn't leave our home. We stayed put. What a difference that makes! I enjoy visiting family, seeing other cities, exploring new places; but sometimes, it gets stressful and exhausting, and you don't feel rested. During this vacation, I got to sleep in my own bed, went to see a movie (Valkyrie with Tom Cruise), ate out on weeknights, and stamped, stamped, stamped. This is the most stamping that I've done in months! My husband would like to take me out to see "Australia" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. We may catch the matinee later on, today. I hope to get one more card completed before going back to work on Monday. (Ooohh....I dread Monday....LOL!)
Stamps: Stampin Up "Fairies"
Cardstock: Brown, White, Red
Ink: Memento Black Ink, COPIC markers, Bayou blue ink (for the sky)
Embellishments: Lace, ribbon, gemstone stickers, Stickles (on her wings)
Tools: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart border punch, Stampin Up scalloped circle punch (to help with creating the puffy clouds), stipple brush

OH MY HEAVENS this card is just stunning! All the details and textures make it a WOW card! I am sorry to hear that your vacation is about up- but I am so glad everyone will be back to work and school on Monday in my house! That means I get some studio time ;) Enjoy the movie!
Oooooh.....what a gorgeous card! Love all of your coloring! Monday's are the worst aren't they?
Girl you are rocking these cards out! BAM! So inspiring....
And yet another gorgeous creation by the talented Ms. Ethel. The alternating colors and sizes of pearls is such a great effect.
I've thoroughly enjoyed YOUR vacation too since you've had a bit of time in your stamp room. Ethel, you know I'm one of your biggest fans! :)
We too have enjoyed going to the movie theatre over the holiday. We've seen "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (LOVED IT!), "Doubt" (really, really good. A real thought provoker!) and today we saw the early matinee of "Marley and Me." We both had read the book so knew what it was about. It was very good but oh my...you will need tissues. It was especially difficult to watch since we are still raw emotionally from our loss of Bella. Nevertheless, the book is outstanding and the movie was very well done.
Happy New Year! As always, I'll eagerly watch for your next post.
Beautiful card. I love how you did your clouds. Your vacation sounds just like the kind of vacation I like nowadays. We travelled so much during the holidays that the last couple of days have been the best, sleeping in my own bed and stamping!
Hi Ethel
I love your site! Found you via The Stampin Soldier. Am sending cards to her so the troops can have cards to send home, Laura stated the store there has hardly anything card wise.Glad I found your site, will be back a lot!!
Oh, your blog is beautiful! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Happy New Year!

What a beautiful card! I love how you created the clouds around the background of your image. What a neat idea!
